I would agree if you place the word "non-intercooled" in front of that sentence.

I would agree too if you put "centripetal" in front of that sentance too. The rotrex SC is just a fancy type of centripetal sc.
This type of SC has to spin around 100k rpms to be useful, as well as the shaft speed being a direct function of engine speed. You don't get as much as you do from a possitive-displacement SC till you spin the shaft like crazy. By then you get into the area of poor volumetric effeciency of the motor, which will do jack for power. Sure you have vitrually no response lag vs a turbo, but it still isn't instant boost like a pos-displacement when you start from a dig.
Twin sequential snails ftw in this case.

Re: New Product Alert 11/06!!! (HiProfile)
we should also wait and see what jackson can produce for power too, before we say the products are complete ****. I've tuned roots/centrifical powered cars, and while they weren't huge power makers, it will be interesting to see what these kits can do. I'm sure if a mild power upgrade and the ability to just DD a car, they could be alot of fun.

Re: New Product Alert 11/06!!! (seen4ever)
Thats assuming the price is right, which it won't be. They cost nearly $2k for just the supercharger w/pulley - most rotrex kits cost several thousand. The old style JRSC is much more of a bolt-on than this 'advaced technology'. The only possitive aspect is space, since I've seen a rotrex relocated to where AC was on a teg.
As for power, rotrex isn't produced by Jackson, they're just going to make a kit that fits one on a honda. Theres a bunch of these on other cars in kit form, and they already have ratings for power. All you have to do really is plug in compressor and pulley size, and you can go from there.

Taken from the JRSC thread.

It still behaves some what linearly. The initial boost level is much higher than a Vortech, but not as good as the EATON.
The Rotrex blower I was thinking about is still in R&D.
Leading innovation comes from embracing new challenges, constantly and effectively. Our current activities focus upon variable boost control and e-boost.
Superchargers can provide better drivability than turbochargers, but when designing a system with good boost at low engine speeds it usually becomes inefficient at high engine speeds. What is needed is a multi-speed supercharger drive delivering optimum boost conditions on demand. This can be achieved using a two, three or continuously-variable speed gearbox coupled to the Rotrex traction drive. These two modules clipped together act as a single unit, but are still more compact than a conventional supercharger.

Here are the specs/dyno plots on the ROTREX Integra Type R (B series) that was in the google video: http://www.honda-klub.dk/modul...id=13
Looks very similar to the vortec plots I've seen.

The B-Series engine is not on our top priority list to get out in kit form. We have looked into making a limited run of these kits, for some racing applications. Unfortunately, we do not have it on the drawing board yet.
Be sure to stay in contact, and sign-up for our newsgroup. We hope to be able to help you with B-Series at some point.
