Default Need help with diagram on wiring fan switch with relay

I need help to wire a switch with relay to turn on my fans. Right now I have a switch but no relay and the switch and power wire gets extremely hot! Is the diagram below correct on how I should wire the switch and relay?

why not just wire a switch (needs to be ground interupting I believe) to the fans temp sensor... it just manually overides it then when you apply the ground (via the manual rocker switch) and everything still works normally off the temp sensor when you dont use it the switch.

If I'm making sense of the diagram, 85 to switch is ground and wire from switch to battery is positive. If that's right, then why not just run positive from switch to fuse box under the dash? And is the 30 amp fuse necessary in between 87 and the fans?

i dont think it matters if 85/86 are + or - . ..... the way ive always done it is 86+ and 85 - i would put the 30 amp fuse after the relay, incase the fans draw alot of current or whatever, it will pop a fuse before you burn a wire up, or the relay.

I'm confused. You said 86 is +, and 85 is -, but in your diagram, you have 86 going to ground and 85 to switch has a red wire (postive).
