My F22 Build :D
I REALLY APOLOGISE AS I INITIALLY POSTED THIS POST ON THE WRONG SECTION (ACCORD SECTION), MODS-TELL ME WHAT TO DO. PM ME FOR ANYTHING.
1. Initial parts sourcing/setup for my turbo Accord:
Got my turbo kit from TREADSTONE PERFORMANCE www.treadstoneperformance.com
Shipping took a whole working week, thanks to FedEx circling around memphis.
T3/T4E50 0.48A/R says it's good for 400whp! Note: Turbo's are authentic and checked by turbonetics (since there are so many disputes in this forum being the turbo not real)
Note: It came with tags and serial no's and date purchase from turbonetics etc. The turbo itself have its own red tag of approved oil test and shaft balance. THE TURBO DOES NOT HAVE A SHAFT PLAY.
The wastegate evolution kit comes with springs, manual, warranty and vacuum pipe/fittings:
The exhaust manifold isn't a 'log manifold' instead it is a casted ductile iron and the ports looks pretty decent for me:
TR8 Intercooler i should say that it a copy of spearco design but damn it looks good and claims to be efficient up to 500hp
Note the bar and plate design.
The intercooler piping matches are thick aluminium tubing, goes through the winshield washer hole on hot side:
Silicone coupling, oil fittings, pod air filter, flanges, clamps, stainless steel down pipe kit etc all in the box:
Missing: Gaskets, gaskets and more gaskets -> use loctite is a solution
Thanks Jason.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Got my internals/drive train components from Bisi at BISIMOTO. http://www.bisimoto.net/store/ for the best of your Honda engine!
Shipping took 3 Working days! Got a really fast response from Bisi after the 'hick-up' and he expedited the shipping without charge. (Sorry for the anxiety).
Arias 86mm Forged Pistons & Bisimoto H-Beam Conrod:
Evolution 12lbs Flywheel & Action 6 Puck clutch unsprung:
H23 Arp Headstuds, Hondata intake gasket, head gasket and spring and Ti retainers and most importantly is Bisi's autograph on USPS paper (lol):
----------------------
Mfactory H22A LSD with oem Honda left bearing and Timken(aftermarket) right diff bearing. Damn it is sexy!!! Received it clean, no burrs and oiled.
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Hondata S300 with Bisimoto base map:
Glowshift gauges; digital boost and oil pressure combo, tinted series oil temp and oil sandwich plate:
Precision 680cc peak and hold injectors and Hondata 4bar MAP sensor:
BC RACING coilover set
[img]
Still to come very soon: DBA or Brembo slotted front rotors, Whiteline rear sway bar, GFB Mach 1 blow off, Turbosmart boost cont, 'F 22 U' License plate.
2. Engine Re-build:
On Progress!!!!!!!! Wish me luck!!!
Feeling empty:
MY INNER AND OUTER CV JOINT IS SHOT...been trashing it before I sent it for a rebuild and this is what I get:
Engine getting acid bath:
Intercooler charge piping:
Head Set-up, all new parts in but standard valves:
Block, new pistons, re-bored, honed. ARP Head studs in:
One problem, the piston sticks out of cylinder by 36 thousandth of an inch so piston had to be machined down a bit..Re-calculating compression ratio soon...
Cypher Industries in O'connor gave me a 'price' attack so no go for them. Geoff Kendrick Automotive in Osborne Park (he is confident building honda's as he does it often) and have all facility in the house thus better reliability and price.
3. Turbo Time:
Safety First
**** weather through out weekend
Stripping front section
Test fitting the turbo
Tapping through the oil pan for turbo drain line
Dropping fuel tank with the help of my mechanic friend
In with the new walbro pump
Changing to the new injectors
TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WTF DOESN'T THE INTERCOOLER PIPING FIT INTO THE WINDSHIELD WASHER HOLE!!
Cutting the bumper to fit
Intercooler ON!!!!
Re-pinned ecu and P28 Hondata s300 IN!!!!
The End of today at 11pm
Intercooler was on by last night and car is in workshop for downpipe/exhaust fabrication.

Re: My F22 Build :D
GUYS! Just a question, how the heck did you fit the turbo fmic charge piping throught the windshield washer hole like this???
Picture: Andrew's accord
I took out the water resevoir, observed what needs to be cut but seems to be highly impossible since there are A/C or abs lines on top?? HELP!!
TIA

Re: My F22 Build :D
****en problems I had:
1. Had to chop down a fair bit of the bumper to make it mate with the intercooler
2. Downpipe was fabricated before my downpipe gasket arrived, when i put it on the hole centres are not inline -> had to enlarge the hole
3. ****en downpipe bolts were 9/10 unreachable but got it eventually 2 hrs later
3. Could not take off the drain line to prime the turbo, so instead I took the oil inlet line and cranked the motor few times until oil comes out
4. I mounted the power source of the gauges wrong last night. Jammed the wire in the under hood fuse which was upstream from the switches. Gauges wouldn't turn off even keys were out
The Pros:
TUNING IS TOMORROW!! YAY
No fuel leaks
Fuel Pump works and charges
Engine Cranks
Hondata talks with laptop
Everything into place
Intercooler mounted securely
Charge pipe all clear
Bumper needs a bit of cut-out (5 mins)
Gauges power needs to be rewired (10mins) yay!!!!!
Air filter must be modified to fit
Get new battery this arvo

Re: My F22 Build :D
I saved up for 6 months and I'm broke but that's ok, I'm still 18 and being broke when you're 18 it is fine I guess, gotta live my live happy at young age. I'm keeping vtec on this no matter what, love VTEC.
Hey guys, I'm gonna start her up in about 4 hours, hopefully the engine or ecu will not grenade. I mean, with Bisimoto's basemap it shouldn't right?? (my heart has been going 1000miles/hour right now)
For BOOSTED ACCORD OWNERS WITH P28: is it only the A6 and A11 pins of the ecu that you need to swap??

Re: My F22 Build :D
UPDATE: The car starts 2 days ago but was running pig rich, idled fine for 2 mins and started pouring out white smoke. Turned the car off, check oil, check coolant, everything was very good.
UPDATE: Towed the car yesterday morning, unfortunately, the tuner was packed full of cars to tune yesterday. Waited the whole day but they didn't touch my car until 4.30pm. BUT HEY! AT LEAST the made few adjustment and the car is driveable and idles quite, no misfire and sounds like stock!!!

Re: My F22 Build :D
2 Hours ago they called me when they did the first base run, it was making 200whp and still running pig rich. I'm going there in about 1.5 hour, at work right now.

Re: My F22 Build :D
The up side is it probably has a wide powerband with that .48ar turbine housing. I'd really suggest a .63ar, or even .82ar hosing if it's a race or weekend car. A .48ar is barely big enough for a D16...
Otherwise everything looks ****. At 265hp it will be quick, but it sounds like they barely cracked 10psi with it. Why slap 4bar on it if you aren't shooting for at least 20psi

Re: My F22 Build :D
show us the sheet, i want to see if that .48 hotside is choking the topend and if it is thats a cheap and easy swap to put a .63 on there, but id say a .82 would be too big for that turbo and for a street car
a .63 is capable of 400 whp without chocking it up top in my opinion

Re: My F22 Build :D
13PSI - Power is linear 265 hub HP at 5500rpm, Torque is 370Nm at 4500rpm relatively linear. Power feels great, full boost at 3000rpm at WOT, but I'm coming down for more to crack 350HP since it still have more potential to be pushed.
MFactory LSD doesn't let me down anytime, I would only rip the tyres slightly on very hard launch or at 5500rpm. +++ Turbo spools real loud
I'll take a photo of both my car (it's waxed up now) and my dyno sheet 2moro after work.
