not the coil just the cap and rotor, or mainly the rotor blew apart inside the cap, i havent the foggyest what happened but i replaced the cap and rotor with oem then i had stalling issues when it warmed up so i said screw it and bought a whole new dizzy. never really thought about it too much.

The second one sounds a bit more like the rotor screw just wasn't on well enough. I've had OEMs break up on my daily drivers because the gasket for the cap wasn't on, or i didn't use the right torque on a stripped screw to come out.
Some of it is MSDs fault, but there aren't many choices in caps to choose from, and I wouldn't let one or 2 spoil a batch of 10,000 units. Its interesting people will post on the bad stuff of everything to make it easier to find, but never GOOD reviews. If someone does, all of a sudden their accused of "dick riding", "brown nosing", or "sucking up in the hopes of getting sponsored". Because of this ridicule that goes on in these forums, its hard to get pros and cons of one particular item with any objectivity.

well once i upgrade i'll give another one a try, i did not install the one that failed on me so i have no idea, it was on the car when i bought it along with a bunch of other stupid crap, i spent the first summer with this car taking things out of it and fixing hacked wiring issues. so judging by some of the work i had seen in my car its possible it was installation error for sure. my car had something like 35 owners on the used car package too.

That happened to me on a stock ignition rotor, the screw fell out and tore everything up inside. I now use a lock washer on mine.

Re: My B18C1 Engine Build/Assembly
Little Update:
I started to notice a little oil leak coming from the cam/valve cover area. Took of the valve cover and after close inspection, found the intake camshaft seal was leaking. So at this point since the cams were going to have to come out I decided to go ahead and re-torq my ARP head studs. And after pulling everything apart its a good thing I did because I found a few that at loosened up a bit. I guess with heat cycles and what not. So I replaced the cam seals, cam cap seal, valve cover seal, spark plug seals. Put it all back together and no leaky leaky yet.

Re: My B18C1 Engine Build/Assembly
Im a bit confused on why there is a coil tower coming off the mallory box? shouldn't the coil wire just go from the external coil to the MSD cap??

I do see where you're coming from, don't get me wrong, but I'm just surprised that someone like yourself who doesn't take **** from anybody, didn't think of calling them up and getting the unit rebuilt for next to nothing, once it failed.

This one I can't answer, because I just went by the wiring instructions. Call summitt on their phone support. They'll go through it all with you if you think it'll work for you or not. I simply went by their instructions (me and a wiring buddy,) and put it together.

I also picked up A Modified OBX LSD (washer/bolt upgrade) de-burred, and shot peened. I also ordered the Syncrotech Carbon syncros 1-5 and a full honda transmission bearing and seal kit.
