Default LS VTEC Running rough, valve noise from head

Here the story to my motor, it used to be a turbo b18b1 set-up until i decided to go ls-vtec and a different turbo set up.

Bottom end:
B18B1 81mm Stock sleeve
9.5 CR Wesico Piston
Eagles rod
GSR Headstud (ls-vtec)
GE Ls-Vtec conversion kit, i decided to use the oem modified p30 headgasket from GE kit over an LS headgasket

Old turbo set-up:

Log manifold
SC34 .60 .63
550cc Injector
AEM FPR
3 inch downpipe
Etc
Etc

New Turbo set up:

Topmount manifold
T3/GT40 Stage 5 wheel .63 AR (basically a SC61)
750cc Injector
3 inch Downpipe
Etc
Etc

Now onto the valve/piston slap noise from the head

I had a new basemap made for this set up since i switch to a bigger injector and went with a chipped p28.

When i finished putting the b16a1 head on the motor during the summer, i started it up with the p75 ecu and old tuned for the old turbo set-up, The car idle and run mint, smoooth as butter.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, i put on the new turbo set-up on, install the new P28 ecu with 750cc injector base map, did a valve adjustment.

Now the car is running pretty rough, not idle surging or anything but there is a lot of it seem like valve noises from the head, idle at 900 rpm and when i rev it up it would drop to about 500 and sound like it would die out. It is pulling about 19-20 In Hg vacuum according to the gauge when it used to pulled around 22-23 before.

What i've checked, i check my valve adjustment as it could cause valve noise. found some a bit tight, readjust all the valve to .008 Intake and .009 Exhaust. Im aware that these are on the loose side but people like to keep it loose on turbo set-up.

The other i though could be is that my mechanical/ignition timing is off, i check the mechanical timing NUMEROUS amount of time. I timed the motor with a timing gun (non advancing gun), i timed it to the RED middle of 3 line together which is 16 degree. If my timing belt was a tooth off, it would be impossible for me to timed the ignition timing correctly since it would be too far off correct? So my timing is good.

Right now i dont know if the valves noises from the head is cause from the basemap because of the 750cc injector (read about how it is very hard to idle RC 750cc?) or is something wrong with my motor.

REMEMBER, when i had the car running with the old P75 ecu and chipped for 550cc (was running 550cc back then), it was running smooth.

So it seem like the 750cc injector+basemap is causing the valve noises from the motor? I would say it is loud, sound like piston slapped on a cold motor. I let the car warmth up to temperature and valve noise is still there.

BTW Basemap is made on CromePro

i have saturated 750cc rc injectors, and they're pretty loud.

and get it tuned already!

Im not getting it tuned now, it snowing . I just want to make SURE that the noise problem is cause by the basemap not anything mechanical with my motor, i dont want to drive 3 hour showed up and find out my motor is the problem.

BTW, i dont think the noise is from the injector, more like from the head. It can be overheard over the engine.

Injectors could be loud...

Do you still have the old chip and injectors...shouldnt take to long to switch out an see the differences.

I could hardly hear them. Must be something to do with saturated types only.

im pretty paranoid about this, i just think it way to loud to be an injector noise.

Probably will look into it more to make sure, if anyone have any idea feel free to post

i can give you a tip a very well know mechanic around my area once gave me when i was have a weird motor noise, take a long screwdriver and put the handle to your ear and start putting the tip on different areas and see where it gets noticeable and loud, i though he was one wave short of a ship wreck but it in fact worked for myself

my 680's were pretty loud, sounded just liek a valve tap.

im willing to put money on the basemap being why its running rough. did you just scale the injectors for 750cc and hope it would work? you need to mess with the injector offset in crome with large injectors, ive noticed anything over 550 needs to have that adjusted. my 680's took about 34.00 to run properly.

Im not expecting a perfect idle or anything from a basemap, im aware it not going to run very well.

I just want to make sure that itthe basemap/injector is causing the valve noise. I dont want to go to Xenocron for a tuning session and end up trying to fix the car.

Ill probably check on the dizzy and the LMA to make sure

Edit: i didnt make the basemap, i requested from Xenocron

Did a compression test and got 220 220 220 210, bleh i guess ill have to blame the noise on the injector

in the time spent posting in this thread you could have swapped the other injectors back in to see.

That would be one of the thing that i would do IF i still have the 550cc injector like i mention earlier
