Ls/Vtec which pistons for boost?
I have a stock b16a2 head and a stock b18a1. I plan on getting arp rod bolts and main studs. Also Acl rod and main cap bearings. Then I was thinking of using the stock rods and turbo pistons but would like to know what pistons would be the best for turbo, and should I not use the ls rods?

There's a boosted LS/V thread around here somewhere that you should be able to get your answers from. Lemme know if you can't find it.

Stock rods with forged pistons is a waste, not only do the rods need machine work to fit the floating wrist pins but you still have weak rods, so when the motor breaks it will throw a rod as opposed to something piston related.
Stock rods aren't all that strong. If you're gonna do pistons might as well do it right and get rods at the same,e time

Incorrect sir it is reliable to machine the piston slightly and have the pins pressed in so as to work similar to stock with looser p2w clearances. I ran a low 13 sec hatch daily with stock Gsr rods, acls, je srp pistons. No problems at all. Beat the dog **** outta it. We all remember our first build... I would suggest using eagle rods for a budget build. **** might as well do it right if ur gonna do it.

13 seconds on stock rods isn't pushing them at all.
I forgot whether it was the rods or pistons that needed to be ,machined... but the floating pins have a slightly different outer diameter than the stock ones, so you really can't press them in
And my first build was a sleeved, stroked, 2.1 liter ls/VTEC, custom crank, cams, pistons, rods, port work, intake manifold, etc... no off the shelf ****, and I was still in high school lol

Holy cow! 13 seconds in a built, turbo hatch. Watch out for Rocketman over here...
If you're going to take the time and effort to build the engine, don't half-*** it. A set of Eagle rods is less than $300 if you watch the marketplace for any amount of time. If you can't afford that, maybe hold off on the entire turbo idea. The other option is to back off your goals to a manageable level for stock components. At any rate, skimping on parts in order to save a few bucks isn't a viable business model...it WILL cost you more in the long run.
