ls swap then to boost; chokes @ 4K rpm
here's my situation.
1. swapped out my boosted single cam (ran GREAT) for a stock ls
2. ran it n/a for a while to rule out bugs; none came up
3. threw the turbo on and it immediately began choking when trying to give it anymore than half-throttle, but would continue to creep up in speed AS LONG AS I DIDN'T GO MORE THAN THAT
4. had it tuned by a very reputable friend in the business and it stubbornly held on to the problem
5. i still have the problem to this day, but no one we have talked to has been able to pinpoint why it chokes
here's what we've changed/tried:
1. plugs
2. wires
3. coil
4. distributor
5. distributor cap
6. tps
7. throttle body
8. re-gapping the plugs (28 to 17 to 20)
9. couplers & clamps
injectors are 550's
NGK 4091 plugs (boost plugs)
greddy turbo w/ 48 back, 60 front
walbro 255 fuel pump
no 2-step
anything you want to know, let me know
we're convinced it's something so f-ing simple but we're just overlooking it. it's really annoying me that i can't i drive my car normally. anybody with any ideas...

Re: ls swap then to boost; chokes @ 4K rpm
what map sensor are you running ?, i kinda had the same probably last year with my gsr. First the i had a bad distributor changed it. Car was still choking out at around 3500-4000 rpm ended up being at bad map senor. Which was a omni power 4bar, i picked up at hondata which their all basicly the same motorola style map. But look into your map sensor being bad.

i had the same problem with my single cam and it did end up being the map sensor. we swapped out the stock for a 3.5 bar AEM and it worked. but even with the 3.5 bar and after trying a couple of others (while tuning) we still ran into the same problem. at this point, it's just a stock map sensor because that's what we ended the evening with and that's how the program sits currently.
as far as the wastegate goes, it was on my husband's car before he changed his manifold and he had no problems with it. others have tried to suggest it but he is adamant that it's not that because of the fact it was working prior to being thrown on my car.
thanks for the input. if anyone else out there has an idea, let me know. i don't care how off the wall it might be...it might lead us in a new direction.
what about the fuel filter???
