Hondata and timing
I didn't have time to go over it carefully but call me demented....
I think version 3 of hondalogger and romeditor has changed the timing advance numbers now to only show ignition timing. it used to show the addition of base timing (distributor) plus the timing advance and show the total.
am i nuts or is that the case. i'll look more carefully later. i'm usually so busy looking at power curves and the maps not the timing numbers in the logger.

Re: Hondata and timing (GruvyTune)
I tuned a prelude the other day with version 3 and the datalogs showed total advance, not total plus dist. adv. You're right about that

Re: Hondata and timing (tony1)
sorry to revive this topic,
i'm asking that people go back and look at any datalogs and their associated rom files. I am finding my most recent tuning experiences having some timing issues on the high cams. the datalogs are strange. the high cams in boost show the timing to be jumping high (as much as 6-10 degrees) vs what is dictated by the ROM tables!
I then went back and looked at some old files I have using version 2.5 roms and that is not the case. timing dead on vs the tables. I have sent files to Hondata.
Doug suggested putting a timing light in and looking while in boost!! I have never done that but I suppose I can. Anyway, i am a bit curious about this. Timing has never been such an issue before.
thanks

Re: Hondata and timing (GruvyTune)
I havent been able to use the newest 3.4 version rom editor and hondalogger software, but there might be an issue with the revisions that they have made that has been overlooked that has effected the timing. I will be doing tuning full time in the next week, so I will get a chance to see if I have the same problem.

Re: Hondata and timing (boosted hybrid)
I did some logging a few days ago on 3.4 and your 100% right readings in logger show total advance, the settings in romeditor add to the base timing.

Re: Hondata and timing (BLKCRX)
james,
actually, they show total advance in both, there is only a discrepancy that i can see in the high cam in boost, seems after a certain point the timing just jumps up. thats a bit scary in boost but so far i haven't been able to detect detonation.
