Default Hondata Boost vs AEM Boost gauge

ok. i have twin tial 44wg with a .9bar spring. i get two different boost reading from the hondata and the aem digital boost gauge. hondata reads 13.7 psi and the aem reads 16psi. both map sensor is hooked up directly on the manifold. which one should i rely on to give accurate boost reading?

Ask your tuner when he tuned it which one he used.

well, i tuned with the hondata boost reading. decided to put in a digital boost gauge so i can monitor the boost.

So your aem gauge is electrical not mechanical? and what sensor is it running off of for a source.

Could just be a scaling issue since the gauge might be thinking it's a stock sensor. Or are there two seperate map sensors?

If so I know you say but they're both mounted to the intake manifold?

Is the scaling set properly in hondata for the map sensor you're using?

The map sensor is more reliable than the gauge. whatever hondata is reading is what yoru boosting. Ive yet to see a completely accurate gauge personally. I always go off what my hondata reads, it does help that i am running a tunerview II. Im running a garrett boost gauge as well(mechanical) and its alays a little off from the hondata

HMM.. your running two map sensors and both are conncted? if so that may be throwing things off... i mistakenly had both my stock and my 3bar hooked up at the same time and my map values were very crazy lol try unhooking one and just go with hondata on the readings becuase even autometer guages read within 5%(mechanical) off the actual reading if im not mistaking.. but on hondata's website it says plug only one map sensor up at a time goodluck..

regardless of what the gauge says, the map sensor is the one providing data to the ecu. so whatever hondata is reading is how the ecu will compensate for fuel/ignition.

what aem gauge are you using? the tru-boost (ebc and gauge combo)? if so you need to select which sensor you are using. the gauge has a built-in boost gauge as well as the external sensor for higher boost pressures. you shouldnt need the external sensor if staying under 29psi.

see the bottom of page 5 for more info

Correct. Regardless if the MAP sensor is accurate or not, thats what "matters" in terms of tuning. The actual pressure number is relative anyways.
