golden eagle lsvtec head fitting question
i was trying to install the golden eagle lsvtec head fitting to the head. how tight should it be? i try hand tightening it but could only get 3 or 4 threads. when i use a wrench to tighten it down. i could only get like another 2threads in before it gets very tight.
so basicly my question is.

You mean the plug that blocks the oil passage into the bottom of the head? You're supposed to use an 1/8 NPT tap and then thread an 1/8 NPT plug there if I remember correctly. The "new" feed fitting on the back of the head should be BSPT.

I'm not sure exactly how far mine went in, but I know it didn't thread all the way in. I just tightened it until it got pretty snug.

i used some teflon tape on the threads and cranked it pretty tight, i think i used a 1ft breaker bar to the point where it wasnt easy. i probably overtightened it, but it doesnt leak

Just make sure the plug sits below the deck surface of the head.

Re: golden eagle lsvtec head fitting question (komat)
I remember a long time ago when I checked the thread pitches of the GE -6AN-to-pipe adapter against the threads on the brass plug and also against an Aeroquip -6AN-to-3/8" NPT adapter; none of the threads pitches were the same. I ended up retapping the head with a 3/8" NPT tap and using the Aeroquip adapter.

It gets tight pretty quick. I noticed this too...just tight it like normal with a wrench (use teflon tape or goop) and it'll be just fine.

no there is no need to go all the way down because it'll be severely overtightened. Just tight it as much as you would any normal fitting.

It wont go in very far.. It gets tight real early.
Also has anyone had problems with getting the GE dowels to fit in the block? Im in the process of going LS-V using the GE kit and the dowels they supplied dont fit into the block. They are like .5mm too big

My dowels fit perfectly. I just had to shave them down a bit (height wise) since I had to have my head decked .010".
