Assfuck, if you were half way literate you'd notice I did not agree with you. You say tune for .85 lambda. Guess what, thats damn close to the max lean AFR for E85. Some people prefer to be closer to the max rich AFR. In which case they are far too lean. If you read the next two sentences after what you bolded, I clearly stated that. So learn to read carefully before you start questioning what I said.</TD></TR></TABLE>
lol have either of you guys ever tuned with E85. if not then please STFU u guys are arguing for no reason cause u both are wrong. .85 lambda= 12.5 A/F NO MATTER WITH WHAT FUEL YOUR TUNING WITH. so please if you have no experience with it then stop posting stupid information like that

im not arguing with anyone because i dont care.
in your own words tell me why tuning around .78 or .85 lambda is a bad idea for E85 ? im curious

Re: (tony413)
probably all your widebands are setup to convert LAMBDA into GAS afr..
0.80lambda = about 11.5 afr in gas. just because you use a different fuel dosnt change the fact that a wideband is a lambda meter and just changes the units for morons.
so tune it for the same "afr" as gas and you'll be fine

Re: (JDogg)
I have been running E-85 in my car for about a year now. I totally agree to tune it the same way you would tune regular gas (as far as #'s are concerned). What is nice about E-85 is that it likes to be somewhat lean. (results may varry). Right now at full boost WOT with my setup my A/F's are at 12.5 with no knock. (Mitsu EVO, PTE67 Turbo, 30lbs of boost, ETC)
I would go as far as to say that E-85 is as good as c-16 in many ways. Some say that it is better, but my exposure to comparisons are limited.
Good stuff either way. Good luck.

That's only true if 0.80 is the best place to run E85.
We should be more concerned about max power lambda values for E85. In the link nowtype posted earlier they claim gasoline max power is made between 12.5:1 (.85 lambda) rich and 13.2:1 (.90 lambda) lean. Most FI vehicles will tune around 11.8:1 (.80 lambda) or lower. This same site claims max power for E85 to be 6.7:1 (.691 lambda) rich and 8.4:1(.866 lambda) lean. I think there are some that tune E85 on the leaner site of this (much wider) AFR band because the burn is cooler. Coincidentally, 12.5:1 for gas and 8.4:1 for E85 are pretty close to each other.
I'd personally like to see more information in power output vs safety vs lambda. All this AFR talk is trivial.
