is there a certain type of paint to use/stay away from? i used some of that gunmetal wheel paint from autozone after i bead blasted the pipes...will it last?

what about the intercooler itself...can high temp paint be used and not effect the cooling characteristics of the intercooler???

For intercooler you can use RAD paint.

Yes, but im sure it's just slightly. That's why they make radiator paint, its thinner too.

won't radiator paint insulate? maybe im thinking of the household radiator (ouch) vs autmotive. the oem radiator paint seems pretty thick. i guess that doesn't mean it doesn't transfer heat well.

how much would anodizing cost? say for a 22x9x3" core + endtanks?

Make sure you do it right the first time. I originally did mine, sanded, primered, sanded and painted but for some reason it chips fairly easily. Now I have to sand the whole damn thing and start over. It is a huge pain in the ***. Good luck

crap i wasnt even gonna prep it. just spray the bastard. i dont care about details really, i just want it to be less visible, stealthy. but of course if it just looks nasty that wont be any good either.

when i painted my wheels with that tamiya acrylic model paint, i only did like 2-3 light coats and it never chipped or flawed. the cans are tiny and i only used 2. however ive heard of people using lots of that duplicolor wheel paint and theirs chips. what makes a paint do that?

the surface you are applying the paint to. it needs to be ruffed up for the paint to stick. i.e. sanding.

Read up on it, there are plenty of books.

i did not prep my hx wheels whatsoever, i just cleaned them first. the tamiya paint stuck like glue. the ones with only 1-2coats were a year old, the ones i painted with 2-3 coats lasted a few months with no flaws. only steel wool/aircraft stripper/rubbing compound took it off.

i contacted krylon and they said they do not have a paint suitable for intercoolers. my requirements were that it not insulate. im waiting for duplicolor's response.
