Default WASTEGATE OPENING EARLY....

I HAVE A 35 MM WASTEGATE TIAL.. Open DUMPTUBE...AVCR BOOST CONTROLLER... 3 SETTINGS.... 7 PSI, 10 PSI AND 14 PSI.... 7 psi holds boost fine..... 10 psi holds boost fine... ive noticed.. at 14 psi.... my wastegate would open before 14 PSI more like around 9 or 10.. and den goto 14 psi... Is it a faulty wastegate sping...SETTING ON BOOST CONTROLLER.. I am runnin a 7 PSI SPRING.. any info would be great... thanxs

ur boost builds up slowly. it doesn't hit 14 psi instantly. thats what is called lag

but wha bout my wastegate opening early.. is that normal? cause i can hear it open.. b4 i hit 14 psi...

What are you using to control boost? Are the settings on the EBC (assuming it's an EBC) correct?

That's fairly normal when you hit about twice the stock WG spring setting. Upgrade to a 10 psi spring and you shouln't have the problem

I'm not sure if that's true on a Electronic Boost Controller, EBC, since pressure is added to the top of the wastegate to push down on the diaphram and equalize the pressures in the diaphram.

You are right about that for a Manual boost controller though

hmmm.... ima get a 10 psi spring anyway... before i retune.. i am uping the boost to 17 psi...do any of you have the problem of open wastegate early?

Just paly with the duty cycle on the boost solenoid some more. Prolly jsut incorrect settings

my wastegate wont open, i turned my boost controler way down, EBC profec b II and it sitll over boost i think its my waste gate, its a shitty delta

Liquidmetal - d/c the boost controlelr and run off wastegate spring. That will eliminate weather or not it's your EBC
