blue smoke out of the breather is a good indicator that the rings r done. bad rings will cause abnormally high crankcase pressures as well. but if its only the high case pressure u may not hav a sufficient crankcase vent system. an easy way to check ur rings is jus do a compression test

i had an issue wit my stock pistons. the ring lands broke off nd decided to make there own lil home in my cylinder wall. the best thing u can do at this point is stop drivin it till u kno exactly wats wrong nd jus fix it. itll sav a lot of time nd money in the long run

if they are bad rings would that reduce my 426 wheel horse power because so much blow by. and say if it is bad rings because high pressure and i vented out more then will i still produce the same 426 wheel horse power and extend the life of the motor a lil bit longer. cuz at this point i don't care anymore i'm willing to ride it as is till it dies.

well lets put it this way, it doesnt matter wat u do to the gasses after the fact. if u hav excessive blow by...ur losing power. u dnt hav as much force pushing down on the piston as u would wit a good sealing cylinder. its basically wasted horsepower

does anyone know how to spell properly anymore? holy ****.

the last time i had burning oil coming out of my breather my pistons had expanded and scored the cylinder walls.

it was knocking pretty audibly between 2000 and 3000 rpms. i limped it home but the motor did need to go .020 over

sorry man i'm a teacher, its a force of habit i guess.

a good leakdown test will show you exactly what part of the cylinder or which cylinder is bad
