blowing oil from my endyne crankcase breather filter?
Can someone elaborate what causes this? Obviously crankcase pressure, but is this normal on high boost? Compression tests yield 210 across the board after 4 crancks @wot. B/w 250-260 if you crank it til it stops making pressure. Leakdown test resulted in less than 10% for every cylinder(warm engine). The car never used to smoke. It smokes now b/c my turbo seal is bad. Turbo is spittin oil into the downpipe. Can this cause the oil to come out of the breather? It only spit oil out of the can when I ran over 15psi. On low boost it didn't. I can't test it anymoe b/c the turbo is f'ed.

Hence i answered your question. Its normal.
if you look at the Hondas at the track with them, they wrap rags around the filter becuase they puke under HIGH load.

thats's why I thanked you, I appreciate your help. I would still like to hear from others that are running this breather system. I hope this is normal. I did the rag thing when we dyno'ed and it cured the problem as well. I just want to be sure b4 I continue boosting and do unnecessary damage.

this is somewhat like a catchcan, but is has a breather filter on top. under high loads it pukes as itr206 said.

I know that but I thought a catch can was suppose to "catch" it

Mine doesn't do this and I have tested it with and without the drainback to the oilpan.
Car is run hard everyday with 16psi of boost.

low boost was never bad for me. But when running over 1bar it did it. So it a higher load thing

When I put mine on, an employee from endyn stopped by the shop and said I had it set up wrong. So I told him it was higher and it was draining. Well he showed me where it was going "up" on the drain. It wasnt alot, but enough to maybe cause it to overflow. We'll I fixed it and havent had any problems. I wouldnt say its normal for it to have oil coming out if installed correctly. But then again, Ive only run some 1/8 mile passes. I guess I'll see what happens when run it in the 1/4mile.
best of luck.

mine also does this on occasion(im at 15psi). my buddy runs his car at 15psi on the street and 23psi at the track and never had this problem.
