When i put my engine together..i was told to use white lithium grease on the cams and what not..Well..this stuff isnt breaking down! I have 500 miles on the motor...and the valve cover is plastered with that grease...

I thought it was suppose to break down?? Now im worried that my turbo oil lines will get clogged..i did an oil change after the initial start up and 20 miles driven...The bottom end was put together with red lube, its very thin...the cams were used with white lithium grease..

Anyone know a good way to flush this crap out of my motor??? thanks!

Hmm i used it when i built my motor..it was all gone after the 1st oil change..change the damn oil!!!! your oil will come out looking milky

Next time just use assembly lube.

it should melt when you get the engine warm and come out with the oil change. You could put like half a can of "Seafoam" in the oil and run it for a few minutes in the driveway with no load on it untill its hot and drain it hot. It would not hurt anything. it desolves carbon and thins petrolium and surrounds water so i dont see why it would not work.

I used seafoam durring every oilchange when i had alot of blowby from melted rings. iv'e had that engine to 10k rpm almost daily for 30k miles . And i have pulled it apart a few times . The bearings and everything internal looked new.

hmm seafoam...one option i can keep in mind...anyone else have any experience with seafoam in their oil?

I have never heard of using White Lithium grease on any motor internals

I have always used Federal Mogul green assembly lube. It is medium viscosity and a bit tackier than most of the red assembly lubes that I have used before.

A guy I know rebuilt an engine, he didnt have an vasiline to pack in the oil pump so he used white lube. but he hasnt had a problem and its been like a year

some of the best engine builders in the country use white "assm lube"

I use lubriplate stuff that looks just like white lithium grease but it doesnt stay together once the motor is started. I would make a little sucker end for your shop vac and suck out the clumps you can get to, then change the oil and be done with it.

Never mind! its not the white grease....i came to a conclusion that its condensation from short trips of driving...I checked my coolant levels, they are perfect and oil free and im not losing any...so it must be condensation...

what is happening i believe is the oil doesnt get hot enuff to evaporate the condensation build up, due to winter conditions on short trips...so it just mixes with the oil...I was told to run the engine hot and take longer trips to evaporate the condesation out of the crank case and head...anyone have any other suggestions?

So if you ever pop ur oil cap off and see sum whitish sludge build up...dont freak out...more then likely its condensation buildup...but always double check your coolant system to be sure...
