Hello Everyone,
Lots of great brands of oil in this thread, I will have to say honesly IMO royal purple is garbage made allot of its money on hype. Believe it or not I have been running Delo 15W-40 in my civic for along time. Its a oil for Diesel trucks but its thick has great detergents and is ready to take the heat from the turbo I have convinced so many others and they started using it. Synthetic oil seems to always cause some issues such as easily burn off or cause issues like soun rod bearings at least what I have seen. Delo 15W-40 is truly a great oil i believe.

brad penn http://www.t1racedevelopment.com/en/...acing-oil.html
BRAD PENN® Penn Grade 1® Racing Oils contain highly effective detergent and dispersant additives to guarantee exceptional engine cleanliness as well as oxidation and foam inhibitors that offer protection against thermal degradation and air entrainment. In addition to their unique base oil cut, increased concentration of “zinc” (zinc dialkyldithiophosphate a.k.a. ZDDP) provides outstanding anti-wear/anti-scuffing protection for engines employing either ‘flat tappet’ or roller cams. BRAD PENN® Penn Grade 1® Racing Oils have been evaluated by a number of premiere camshaft manufacturers with tremendous success. We here at T1 Race Development have seen an increase in cam and rocker life while using BRAD PENN® Penn Grade 1® Racing Oils. We now offer 10w30, 20w50, and the break in specific oils.

Just an FYI, rumor has it the Rotella T (among other truck/ diesel blend oils) that traditionally have had more Zinc/ Phosphorus content in them and were a popular alternative... will be or already have been seeing the same reductions in zddp levels as the light truck/ pass. car oils. Since diesels are now being required to meet similar EPA regulations, have cats on them, etc.

Royal Purple always runs the smoothest in my engine. never had an issue with the oil. i love the stuff.
BUT since the cost of the stuff went up quite a bit over the years i hardly use it anymore. it's a very good oil. all those people who have claimed to have problems with it most likely had the problems before hand and didn't realize it.
at the moment im using shell rotella T6 5w40. it works very very well especially for the cost.

Does anyone use Schaeffer's oil? It's been recommended to me but I haven't tried it yet. I guess Richard Petty uses it if that matters...

straight amsoil here! old d-series burnt oil, decided to try it out.
and wow, no more burning, in my h22 or any of the d-series.
you guys changing every 1000miles are nuts, every 5k here.

It depends on the power, PTW clearance, ring gap and overall blowby. Have you seen what oil looks like on a 650whp car running E85 after 1000 miles? I'm at 500whp and my oil just doesn't last like it's in a stock civic. Considering I'll probably only put 5-6000 miles on my car this year, changing it every 1500 miles is simply not a concern.

Lucas Racing Oil, synthetic 20w-50.
some of the best stuff ive ever used.
Amsoil is my #1 choice, it's just an inconvenience to get ahold of.
