b18c1 Turbo Question (GO-AUTOWORKS)
Hello
I have a recently rebuilt b18c1 with:
Arp Head Studs
Super-tech springs and retainers.
Everything besides that internally is fairly new OEM.
This is just a project car not a DD so reliability isn't as big of a priority.
I'm looking too make at least 325-350hp using the GO-AUTOWORKS street kit featured here: GO-AUTOWORKS Turbo Kits Honda Civic Acura Integra D16 B16 B18 with the optional Garrett GT28 journal bearing .63 a/r.
I understand I will need upgraded injectors and fuel pump.
Could I achieve my goal with this kit?

Re: b18c1 Turbo Question (GO-AUTOWORKS)
I have a Go-autoworks kit on my stock gsr w/ a turbonetics 5457. This turbo is awesome. Been running 305whp @8psi for 2 years. Just upped the boost to 10 psi and I am 370 whp. 410whp on c16. Pics and graphs are on last page of my build thread in signature.

but for the convenience, $2100 kit +$400 RC injectors and $90 Walbro 255
DO IT NAO
another $5-600 for ecu/tuning and you're good to go

My first turbo setup was pieced together. It was a lot of fab work to make everything work. I wish I would have gone with a autoworks kit from the get go.

Re: b18c1 Turbo Question (GO-AUTOWORKS)
my advice on turbo choice... go with a little larger turbo than you think you'll need cause you'll easily find yourself out growing that power very quickly. Happens to all of us.

I think clarification is needed. GT28 as in GT28R, GT2560R, GT2860RS GT2871 etc.
This is the only one on their site that matches the option in the drop down menu

The GT2860R is such a popular turbo but it doesn't seem it will make hardly crap for power. I seriously wonder why most Honda owners don't look right over that and start at the GT2871R or such.

Thanks and good information (also to you LT), I swear turbos are confusing as crap. You have a GT28 and then about 10 different versions of it.

Re: b18c1 Turbo Question (GO-AUTOWORKS)
The trim of a wheel, whether compressor or turbine, affects performance by shifting the airflow capacity. All other factors held constant, a higher trim wheel will flow more than a smaller trim wheel. However, it is important to note that very often all other factors are not held constant. So just because a wheel is a larger trim does not necessarily mean that it will flow more.

Re: b18c1 Turbo Question (GO-AUTOWORKS)
For example, the 50, "trim" Stopsign32v is referring to is the 50,57,60 Trim T04E turbos that all share the same exducer diameter compressor wheel. The difference in outright power between the 3 is only about 20-30whp, considering they all use the same size exhaust wheel. The 50 "trim" itself, is a has a slightly different compressor wheel profile despite its size, and which is why it always seemed to have a flatter torque curve than the 57, and 60 trims, even though they share the same diameter and profile exhaust wheel.
Here's the equation.

Re: b18c1 Turbo Question (GO-AUTOWORKS)
Not to hijack the thread but I'm also looking into the Go-autoworks GT28RS Ball Bearing. I noticed I think it has an internal wastegate, yet will it still come with an external one? My goal is similar, looking at 300 at the wheels. But i'm going to install hasport mounts along with a stage 4 comp clutch.
