Let for a response, but a good response you made.. ..
The car never saw 22psi on the dyno. Boost control wouldn't work when we tuned it. I was just stating what it did on the street. However, we use a loaded mustang dyno so 4th would have shown a slightly quicker spool time. I'm not sure what you mean by it "seems better". I simply stated what it did. Quite a bit more responsive than I expected it to be. I took it down the road on the 66mm today and it honestly didn't feel much laggier. I was watching the wideband so I didn't get any real data as far as spool goes. It should still have a pretty broad powerband though, especially for drag racing.

New to the honda game (ex subie boy stupid headgaskets) im looking to boost my civic when i get more money but i want to do it right like build internals and then boost it because reliability is key. would anyone be willing to make me a list of parts i would need? sorry for my noobiness. has y21 lsd trans with stage 2 clutch and h sport axles so not to worried about trans just motor work. Or how much boost can a stock block hold safely. lets just say out of a 40 or 50 trim.

Anyone currently running a b16 turbo with AC and PS? If so what set up did you go with and did you come across any issues?

I'm thinking about boosting my Em1 (b16a2) and power goal is 250-300 hp on stock internals.

I am currently running an Greddy 18g turbo kit on my B16a2 ARP head studs stock internals. The downpipe on this kit has restrictions on the exhaust elbow to the exhaust. I am running a custom 2.5" downpipe, however the exhaust elbow doesn't help. I am currently at 220 whp at 10 psi.

The problems I ran into are heat soak on my A/C condensor from the turbo. I was unable to keep the stock condensor fan due to the custome support brackets I made. I wrapped the log manifold with exhaust wrap, and made an custom heat shield with tunnel wrap under the heat shield. I also used a td05 turbo blanket from a wrx they all helped and reduced the temps umder my hood. I installed a blox 12" fan in front of the condensor.

I also had cooling issues when I switched to the fal slim fan I ended cutting the center of the thermostat out and problem solved. I have no power steering clearance issues. I hope this helps.

My B16A2 lasted not even 3 months (stock internals) before the ringlands broke and I needed a new block. I wouldn't recommend boosting a stock Bottom end B16A2 to anybody. I ran 13.14 on street tires.

Berz out.

was your engine healthy and professionally tuned. most peoples setups dont usually just go out in a short time frame. not that i dont believe you but, i feel like theres alot of info left out

I did run Nitrous before it was boosted but in the end ring lands are the weak point in those motors. It was probably just over use and hard driving coupled with the nitrous and then turbo but still, failure is failure.

hmmm. not really sure that can be an accurate generalization. 320whp on a b16 for 7 years, daily driven 13psi of boost pressure. About 120Km on the engine. Ringlands are just fine. Doing fine.

Mechanical health of the motor is key to ensuring longevity on any engine.

My first time tuning one of my cars.
-GSR head, CTR cams, PeformerX intake
-Stock B16 block
-log manifold, Turbonetics 5454
-Grams 1000cc injectors
-s300v2

I'm slowly reading up hondata and have a boost solenoid with boost option also.
