Anyone used VP Import fuel/race gas?
I am getting ready to do a race gas tune. My first choice of fuel was VP C16 but was told about VP Import fuel. Anyone here used the Import fuel before?
VP C16 has an octane rating of 117 and VP import is listed as 120+. Price for the Import is nearly double of C16.

Supposed to make around 5% more power from what my VP dealer tells me. But for the money, turn up the boost a couple more psi.

the VP Import fuel works, but the C16 is just as good. As far as price, the VP IMPORT is WAAAY more money. C16 can run about $55-65 per 5 Gal can here in Cali., the VP Import I believe is almost double. $100 or so for a 5 Gal can

How can you say it works, but C16 is just as good? lol
When it comes down to it, if i can pick up 20-40 hp for an extra $50 for a race weekend, it's worth it in my eyes...

haha tony,
what I meant was, c16 is good enough for alot of our budgets. majority of us use it, make the power and have been successful with it.
VP Import has been proven to make more power, but at the expense of double the price on the gas. To some, $50 per race weekend is not much, but to alot of racers, that $50 every time you go to the track adds up and is beyond the budget.

you only need as much octane as to not detonate.
the higher octane, the slower the burn rate. so theoretically in an unmodified engine, or an engine not tuned on that fuel, it will actually be a little slower. run what you were tuned on.
