Default Any of you guys have issues with Mobil 1s 15W50?

I decided to try out this oil this season, but so far I don't have my turbo setup installed for emissions. I just have my oil feed line capped off, but with the thicker oil I am now getting ubber high pressures. Cruising above 4K its about 75psi! I'm sure the turbo will lower the pressure in the system, but now I'm noticing that oil is leaking past the seal of my honda oil filter. It's even cranked on there pretty damn good, but oil is just leaking past the seal. Granted this is honda's small *** filter (apparently they discontinued the larger filters).

Anyone have oil problems with these small filters and 15W50?

i have had no issues in fact i was told to run this oil in my otor because of my bearing specs, and the fact that it was turbocharged, i was told it helps with any blow by the turbo may develop as well as heat for the motor and rings.

so far i have been running it for 2 years on my car with no issues, and it works perfect.

maybe you have a small piece of trach on the filter seal or on the block itself???

75psi is fine, your oil leak isn't a result of that pressure. Like stated above, probably something wrong with the seal or surface.

You can try the Honda S2000 oil filter. It's a bigger oil filter.

You beat me to it! 15400-PCX-004, made in Japan by Toyo Roki, and fits the old oil filter tool.

Cool I'll try that out.

Yeah, it might just be a faulty seal or something. Before I was running 10W30 mobil1 and I didn't have ANY leaking issues.

Thanks!

I've ran 15W50 for a year or so now. No problems with oil pressure.

I get it from the local B&B.

try a larger filter. i run the older poh-305 filter, s2000 is similar size.

i recently did a change to 15w50 and think it was a waste of money.. i had more stable oil pressure using conventional penzoil 15w40.. i don't know whats the deal is but my pressure would normally read 5.1-5.2 kg/cm2 at 4k rpm, now its reading below 5k.. i guess i'll try castrol 5w50 next.. waste of $30. doubt i'll be using any of mobil products again. during winter i use shell 5w40, holds steady 5.1-5.3kg/cm2 pressure
