Default am i gapping my plugs right?

got some bkr7e's

trying to get them down to .22

im hitting the tip of them on my desk, the gap does go down but am i supposed to be getting the outer tip of it to bend in as well?

also after i get the gap down and check the gap with my feeler guage it seems like its already back to how big the gap was prior to hitting it on my desk???

if you are scared of hitting them just lay them gently on the desk and push on them as to decrease the gap on the electrode, then use the gapper and gap.

tapping on your desk is fine, if its not making the gap smaller you need to do it harder.

Use the little hole in the round gaping tool to widen the gap, use slight taps on your desk to close it up.
