95 eg turbo not revving past 5k need some advise
Alright I'll start off with the important information first so you guys got an Idea of what I'm working with
95 eg hatchback
Bone stock f22b1 swap
Holset H1C (large) 18.5cm exhaust 1.06ar
Dsm 450cc injectors with resistor box of course
Hondata s300 v2
Rlf blow off
Egay log manifold and waste gate (temporary)
Boost cut set to 8 pounds (14psi spring)
Now here's the problem, got everythig installed for the turbo kit and put a mild tune on it for now, was driving it and everything was working great and was building 8pounds all day long, wasn't really beating on the car more of weeding out any problems before i have the car tuned this upcoming monday, well i took it to the car wash and sprayed the car and bay down, (keep in mind i always spray my bay off and haven't had a problem)
Now the car is barly building boost and wont rev past 5k rpms if i take the throttle up slowly it will pass 5k once i give it more gas, it shuts down and wont rev any higher, sounds like its hitting a rev limit at 5k
I have already searched this problem with no luck to solve the issue
Parts i have already replaced in an attempt to fix the problem
Map sensor twice
Ignitor
Ignition coil
Inspected but did NOT replace spark plugs
Reset ecu, unbolted battery
Let the car sit for a week (maby something got wet during the wash)
Inspected for boost leaks
Took apart and inspected waste-gate
Now a little information
When it hits 5k it loads up with fuel (around 10.3 air fuel)
My oil pressure gauge was reading a little low, so when I get off work tonight i will inspect the pressure switch on my sandwich plate and hook up the stock oil pressure switch
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys, and let me know if you need any more information, trying to get this fixed asap!

Re: 95 eg turbo not revving past 5k need some advise
Yes i do know how to data log, i often drive around data loging with my computer in the passenger seat watching everything. I looked at my plugs and they seemed ok, no material around porcelain part of plug, good timing strap, and gapped at .30 (ngk plugs) I'll try replacing them, and when i get off work I'll check timing and do a comp test to rule it out and report back

alright im still fighting with this, absolutely cannot figure out what is going on.
heres a list of everything that ive done or replaced:
fixed wire from A6-A25
took launch control off
replaced igniter
replaced coil
tried different basemaps
replaced map sensor twice
checked fuses
fixed head temp sensors wires
hooked up oil pressure switch
changed spark plus (tired gap at .20 ran like ****, upped to .30 runs better)
tried new sprk plug wires
checked tps voltage for any dead spots
COMPRESSION
#1-- 150psi
#2-- 150
#3-- 150
#4-- 150
checked out just fine and was exacly at 150 every cylinder
zip tied vacuum lines
installed boost guage
timing is a 10 degrees btdc
changed oil (conventional 10w40)
added ground from shock tower to valve cover
changed torn intercooler coupler
still doing the same exact thing, problem hasn't gotten worse, hasn't gotten better

what is your rev limiter set to? are you sure the fuel cutoff and engine protection aren't randomly becoming an issue? Something got wet that's for sure, or a short is creating the issue at that rpm

Re: 95 eg turbo not revving past 5k need some advise
yeah I'm pretty sure, so what I just tried is uploading a completely different base map, changed some things within the tune to accommodate for the f22 output. it revs freely through the power band now, however at about 10 pounds its in the 14-15 air fuel! which is sketch as fuuu! so car has an appointment at 10am tomorrow morning for a dyno tune, so we will see how it goes and ill post up with what it ends up making.

interesting. sounds like something with your tune or a conflicting issues with sensors, grounds, wiring etc hopefully they get it figured out tho

Had a similar issue a while back. Try an entirely new distributor that you know works. Solved my problem.

Alright guys i finally figured the problem out, upon washing the engine bay somehow the tune that i had on the ecu corrupted? really strange, so i had the car put on a dyno and my tuner fixed all the issues. So it put down a lousy 221hp and 167tq the holsets 18.5cm housing is wayyy to large for this single cam, its on 16 pounds right now, but i dont see the full 16 untill about 6500rpm and i only take the egine to 7200. Sooooooo i am ordering a 12cm housing for thee holset, stepping up from 450cc to 1000cc injectors and going to run e85. At 16 pounds on 91 i am running out of octane. the engine runs extremly smooth right now, but like i said has a hard time spooling, i was going to just run more boost by keeping the wastegate closed but over 18 pounds the fuel cant keep up and i would start seeing detonation. I also had the tuner set up one of my nitrous aux ports to spray a 50 shot at 3500-6800rpm to increase spool time. Once i get the parts in ill put it back on the dyno and shoot for the 320ish hp mark
