Default Is this exhaust from "Racing Gear" (eBay company) actually 3"?

here is the 3" in question

I feel it's more like 2.5".

I asked the seller and they just restate the add that it has 3" inlet and are super unhelpful.

Other exhaust setups like this on ebay appear to be 2.5"

Here is one advertised as 2.5"

I realize I can get a 3" exhaust made at a shop, but that is 400-450 dollars around my area.

Thank you in advance!

Pictures aren't always useful for some of these types of listing. They use the same exhaust image and just copy-paste on all the variants.

If they say 3" inlet, then yes it's supposed to be a full 3" exhaust based on their description.

Why it is you're putting a 3" eBay headerback on a Honda Fit, I won't ask.

I think they meant 'fit' as in fits.

Their compatibility chart has for EK civic coupe/sedan chassis.NotesYearMakeModelTrimEngine2000HondaCivic DX Coupe 2-Door1.6L 1590CC 97Cu. I appreciate your help. I think I'm going to go for it.. I'll update with what I find. If it's 2.5", not the end of the world.

You can always report not as described if it shows up as 2.5 and seller will be forced to refund you and pay return shipping. Actually it kinda looks like 3" to me but can't tell 100% from a pic

if it doesent work out look up kteller pretty much the cheapest exhaust for what you get.

I don't Care much for local exhaust shops I got my skunk2 3" shipped for less then local shop would have charged me for non stainless crush bent system, if I wanted stainless mandrel bent it would have been way more expensive locally

yes I agree. I paid my local shop 400 to weld 3 catalytic converters (that I brought) and 2 flex pipes (that I brought) on my z32 tt I had. granted work was nice but ridiculous.

My buddy also told me about kteller, thanks for this head's up again just trying to avoid going to a shop.

I will give this ebay a try, thanks for the vote of confidence guys, I will update what I find once it arrives.

I used the 92-95 hatch version on my car about 6 years ago. to make it fit 100% itll need a little work (50-100 at a muffler shop) but it sounded great (when turbo, NA not so much) and I made 480whp on pump gas so it seemed to work well

I've had 2 of these exhausts, one of them is still on the car to this day. Sometimes piping is piping.

I bought this exhaust a few months ago for the piping. Actually measured 3" when I got it. Just be aware cheap ebay exhausts won't likely fit very well out of the box and will require cutting and welding to make them fit reasonably. 96 97 98-00 Honda Civic Hatch Back 3Dr Ek 3" N1 Gunmetal Catback Exhaust System | eBay

Greatly appreciate the responses!

Hopefully it will fit okish and a trip to the muffler shop is not the end of the world, still way cheaper than shelling out for a complete system from them.

Yeah, a lot of the exhausts on ebay have a 2.5" inlet flared to 3" piping. This one says 3" inlet, and seeing how others have ran them with success I wouldn't expect to have any issues. Might want to get a better muffler and eventually resonator though.

Casey, ditch photobucket and use Imgur man

I got it, exhaust is 3".

I will post pics for you all soon.

The 'test pipe' cat delete piece goes from 2.5 to 3", the rest welds look great hopeful it will fit ok lol.

Good ****, depending on goals it may be better to toss the testpipe and run a 3" DP. I made 430 on a 2.5in DP flared to 3" so you can make decent power either way

yes my goals are really just around 250-300whp until I build my spare short block. Car is a 00 si em1, b16. What a fun car have had lots of different types of cars and very glad to be in this light chassis now the handling is on point and driver feedback is solid.

i have a 50 trim .63ar turbo to a 3" down pipe then to this exhaust really want the turbo just to work later in rpm and keep mpg and daily drive ability with ac/ps. I will be replacing that test pipe portion with a 3" high flow catalytic converter. Can't stand the smell and being decent to the environment is ok with me.

thanks again guys, 430whp is crazy!

ahh its a pretty simple build. Honestly If I had it to do over I would prefer a 300-350 more responsive setup for the street
