weird turbo issue

weird turbo issue
We pulled the car onto the dyno to get tuned and when the tuner gets to 3500 rpms (starts to build boost) the rpms fall to zero like it just hit a brick wall. No codes show up on hondata. We checked tps , map sensor, fuel relay, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, changed the distributor, new plugs and wires. We are all stumped because when we disconnect the turbo piping and run all motor it's fine , rpms climb and vtec comes in strong. The fuel regulator was set high so we brought the pressure to 40 and the car was running great built 7psi of boost but we had to shut it down becuz of air in the lines it was overheating. Put water in , started the car back up and got ready to see some tuning go down and this time it was at 4500 rpms it would hit a brick wall..? Can anyone help me figure out what in the world is going on? I never had a issue before the fresh build and it was the same set up only new pistons, nothing changed. I just talked to the tuner and he said he is changing the resister box for the injectors if that doesnt work he doesn't know what to do..PLEASE HELP
setup :
built b16a
precision 6076 turbo, ramhorn mani
1000cc injectors (w / risister box)
255 walboro

Re: weird turbo issue
what map sensor are you using? is it spliced right? another place I would look is the overheating issue. sounds like the car is in limp mode. make sure your S300 is wired/plugged correctly.

Re: weird turbo issue
it was overheating becuz air in the lines, we fixed that issue. the map is a brand new msd 3 bar. the s300 is fine becuz i had this engine before the new pistons.

Re: weird turbo issue
i dont know if it helps or not, but when i go to use antilag on my car the tach will drop to zero. lol just figured i would let you know maybe the ignition timing is to blame and when it starts to read boost it is retarding the timing.

does it feel like hitting a brick wall?

Re: weird turbo issue
Sounds like a similar problem i had but i didnt hit a brick wall, the car kept going. The tach would cut out at about 5k rpms and a new distributor fixed that.
what are you running for distributor? When my car was getting tuned, i had msd on it and as soon as the car would start building boost it would "hit a brick wall" for lack of a better term or sputter like crazy because of it.
Stock dizzy fixed that problem.

Re: weird turbo issue
ok quick question does your speedo work????? if it isnt working you engine might be hitting anti lag... when i changed my trans out i had the wrong speedo in it and it would be like i hit a wall and the rpms would show 0rpm and the motor would not rev any farther or go any faster.....

Re: weird turbo issue
atleast with ectune the program uses the signal from the speed sensor to determine if anti lag should kick in.....
hope that helps
