not necessarily. If you get tuned by a dealer, its on a chip. If you are tuning yourself, you must have an ostrich (RTP board).
I would vote eCtune but i'm a bit bias.

I had that feeling when he asked, hence the self contained thing.

Why are you asking this question if your not going to tune yourself? Why bother asking what other people think. When your tuner is the person you should be talking to.
If your asking what will run your N/A H22 better. I would think that would still depend on who is tuning it and what they are using. I would assume that any competent tuner could get your car running the exact same using ether tuning application you have mentioned. Along with a few more that you haven't mentioned.

Re: s200 or eCtune (slowaccord559)
It does really come down to what your tuner prefers, my tuner recommended mostly Crome and Hondata. I went with the Crome freeware and got the same results, tuned and idled smoothly.
But between eCtune and the hondata s200, I would go with eCtune because all you need is the datalog cable kit and you can connect it to your USB ports to datalog. The biggest downfall with the s200 is that it uses old-school connectivity, utilizing the serial ports (even a lot of people are having problems with the serial to USB adapters). If you were asking between the eCtune and the S300, thats a entirely different game (and price jump)
