Rich AFR Idle and Cruising
Hey guys, got my turbo setup done in my wagon and am finishing up a few thing before the tune and am having done afr problems, first off ill list off some specs of the build.
89 Civic Wagon
Stock block rebuilt B18b1
Obd1 converted
Socketed P28 with basemap done by Pherable.net
RC 370cc injectors
Walbro 255 pump
T3/T4 eBay turbo
6psi
During any kind of acceleration the afr is perfect from light tip in to wot, but I'm idling at an average 13.2 afr. Occasionally on a warm start it will fire up and idle at a respectable 14.6-15.2 and then after giving it throttle seems to alter the way the ecu looks at fuel management and then goes back to idling rich. It also cruises between 12.4-13.2 at just about any speed. The only time I've seen my afr read higher than 14 is in 3rd gear around 30.
What troubles me most is that when decelerating I'm not seeing full lean like it should. It's still been showing a 13.2 afr on decel. Any insight? I'm pulling codes tomorrow and going to do my best to figure it out but was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. Thanks!

Bump and another point. The reason I believe this is a hard issue and not tune related is that it sometimes won't run super rich on startup (only warm starts) and that it's just so damn rich and Pherable had been around forever doing this ****. I feel like it's possible to mess up that bad but unlikely. With stock injectors and stock ecu I didn't however have this problem. So I'm unsure.

Its a basemap. Its set up to be a safe tune that will get you to the tuner without nuking the engine on the way. If swapping to a stock fueling setup makes the issue go away then its tune related.
Basemaps are a starting point, not the end point.
Thats why its running the way it it is

Basemap
Basemap
Basemap.
A little rich is safer than a little lean, especially since the guy has never seen your motor. I'm sure the temperature and battery offsets need a little work too.
It's not that rich, as in you're not going to wash the rings out a 12.5:1, mostly just waste fuel and run mediocre. What does your fuel pressure look like? Have you checked it? Is the regulator referencing correctly? If everything is working correctly you're ready to move on.
Once you have everything in order, find a dyno and get it tuned.

Re: Rich AFR Idle and Cruising
Thanks for the input guys. Fuel pressure is 45 and TPS is wired and calibrated, just checked it and made sure it's ground was good. Only code I have atm is 10 which is iat if I recall correctly. I just double checked the wiring on it and it's good so I'm going to go grab a new one and see if that helps.
Yeah I understand it's just a basemap, and it's getting tuned next week at VIP in Portland OR. Just trying to make sure there are no piggy backing problems before I get it tuned and want to have everything 100%! Thank you again!

you probably swapped the IACV and IAT plugs. Also probably fried the IAT circuit in the ECU and the IAT sensor.
The IACV is supposed to have the 12v blk/yel wire. If you put 12v to the IAT, you're gonna have a bad time.
