Obd1 harness obd2b dizzy.. Where to get tach signal
I'm going to be using an obd2b distributor with 8 pin connector. I wanted to know if I can just fid the tach wire to the igniter? If so then is this accurate?
I read there is actually a pin on the igniter you can hook a wire too?

Yes, the tach signal is sent out from the ignitor. IIRC the OBD2b distributor tach output wire is the blue one. If there are no blue wires or there are more than one. It is the tab that sticks out from the side of the ICM (ignitor). If you have the internal coil VTEC distributor it is the 2nd blue wire on the top of the ICM (no side tab). It's the one that isn't connect to the coil.

Re: Obd1 harness obd2b dizzy.. Where to get tach signal
Thanks for your help,
So I'm pretty sure this is correct.
To make a jumper from OBD2b (8 Pin) Distributor to a OBD1 Harness (10 Pin)
Everything will plug right up except for 9 and 10 on the OBD1 harness.
I move pin on OBD1 plug from 9 on the second connector to fill the empty hole on
the OBD1 8pin connector.
Then I take Pin 10 and I splice it into where 1 on each plug meets.
So pretty much I only mess with 2 wires and thats just moving one to the new spot and splicing one to read off the igniter signal.
Is this correct?

take the dizzy apart and just get the tach signal off the ICM just like the OBD1 and OBD2A dizzy setups do it.
