Depends on what you plan on doing. I assume you plan on chipping the ecu with hondata or something similar. All you need is the jumper harness and any chipable obd1 ECU. If you want to keep your knock sensor functionality make sure you get a p72.

Also, if you're running a b20 vtec or plan to run one, chip an ecu that's paired with a stock vtec engine such as the p28/p72. The p06/pr4 ecu's will work fine, but will have no vtec function without modification.

If you're running a b20b on a stock GSR ECU then that's probably why you are throwing a code. I would speculate it has to do with a knock (not sure if the b20b has one) and/or the vtec solenoid.

I have no idea what the stock ecu is for the b20. Do some searching around and see what you can find. If you want the car to run good without some major tuning work, then find the ecu that matches your motor.

IF you are running the P72 gsr ecu on a stock setup B20, you will throw codes. You need to run the non-vtec ecu.

you could use the b20b ecu if you found one. or do a obd2a to obd1 harness with a chipped obd1 ls ecu or p28 with ls/b20 map.
