Default Need Help, O2 sensor problem

hey guys, a buddy of mine has a 2000 Honda Accord SE, 2.3L i believe-it was throwing 2 codes that i pulled with my reader--P1166 and P1167, I changed out the O2 sensor but its still throwing the 1167 Code which says something about the Heater circuit for the O2 sensor, ive checked fuses an they all look okay, im not sure what to look for next, i dont know very much about honda motors so i thought i would come in an ask the experts. thanx

Your question has nothing to do with tuning or EMS.

thanks captain obvious, but since you guys don't have a general maintanence section this seemed like the best place to go since i figured i'd find some experts on how some of these sensors work an what controls them, guess not-thanx anyway

well if you take your o2 sensor out and measure the resistance between the 2 black wires "that's the heater circuit" and its open that means that its bad, also if there is a resistance between the 2 black leads on the questionable o2 sensor "which there should be" compare this with the values of a working oem o2 sensor and see if the resistance is the same. or close.

if that stuff checks out then.. check the ecu circuitry

the 2 black wires that go to the 02 sensor come from the ecu "whatever obd2 pin this is should be something like 02 sensor heater control" and the other should be +12 with key in the 2 position.
the 2 black wires coming from the ecu and +12 have no polarity so switching them isn't going to cause any problems.
Hope that helps.

I posted a O2 Heater sensor circuit trouble shooting chart in a thread for LS1_Nicky in the Accord forum.
