Re: Race Head Mods...
The last setup was OEM Valves and Skunk2 EXP Springs and Retainers.
Ran fine for a 200miles then it dropped a Valve. On top of my Valves it left ware marks where the tappet would ride. Looked like something was wrong with the Geometry of the Web Rockers on the Exhaust side only.
That head worked perfectly fine with stock Rockers and the ware marks looked normal all had kind of an x dead center on them. Whereas the Web left an off Center x on most of the Exhaust...

other than multiplying who knows how many times the operating cycle of the vtec lobes? You all know nothing is free. Might last 200,000mi, might last 20,000mi. I don't have that data. But I don't think that it will be the same as running low and high lobes. For race car, I'm sure its no big deal. But I guess someone with a street car that gets some miles on it will be able to put their 2 cents in.

Don't you experience more wear by loading up a smaller area of pad double spring pressure with 100% duty cycle?
You are still spinning the cam lobes for no reason. Custom grind a Notec Cam to always have the desired profile.

Re: Race Head Mods...
I have heard that locking VTEC with stiff valve springs puts a lot of stress on valve train components, as you found out by dropping a valve. I have seen some examples of rocker wear when people locked VTEC but i don't know the situations surrounding them and I think they were Blox cams or some other "budget" companies cam
