To me, a sleeper is simply a car that looks slow, but isn't. There's quite a few ways to accomplish this.
Not sure where I fall in.. but I am going out of my way to make my car a lot less of a cop magnet.

Any DSM to me isn't a sleeper. Everyone knows they are the cheapest cars to make run 11s, so the likelihood of one being fast is pretty high.
My all time favorite sleeper are V6 Accords and Acura CLs. 260-280HP and unassuming looks and solid 14 second cars with no mods.

im thinking on the all season tires im currently running the ls teg will be in the low 14's and if i can source some cheap 16in drag radials to keep the sleeper image in tacked im thinking this can be a 13 second n/a looking stock exhaust ls teg lol..my car isnt the fastest sleeper out there. what makes it different and cool is that this car is a pop the hood and look around sleeper when they see ls non vtec no one takes it seriously...i get vtec swap's laughing at me, they dont laugh afterword lol...i get mustang gt's and even basic ls1 cars there really susprised and i pop the hood...srt'4/cobalt ss owners get kinda mad as well lol....sleeper ftw

Mines a work in progress, but end goal is CSS block with a 6262 and race gas. Current setup is HY35 off my Cummins on a stock block for fun. Hoping to get it tuned this weekend. Everything fits behind the bumper and I'm running a kteller 3" to a magnaflow muffler. Looks fairly stock from the back.

This car ran mid 9's. Parachute setup came off to the point where you couldn't even tell it had mountain points for one.

I think it's safe to say that a car can be classified as a sleeper when a cop traps someone doing 145mph but doesn't get a chance to see the car when the speed registers. [cop was hiding in the woods late at night] then pulls out and plays catch up for 5 mins, pulls up next to said car and looks and listens, shakes his head, then punches it to catch up to the next vehicle that is more than a mile further down the road. and are the ONLY two vehicles on the road. Good thing my exit came up right after the cop pulled away to check the next car up lolol, yes this really happened to me last fall.
I guess it doesn't hurt that my exhaust is very quiet when cruising (huge resonator, and WS2 3" unbaffled muffler), has open dump with a large pipe so it has a drastically different sound at WOT, my wheels are opposite colors, and I have seam sealer filling a big rot hole in the quarter to keep water out of the trunk lol. The car is also wet in this pic, the paint is extremely unevenly faded all over.
