Re: SPAL Fan Relay Wiring Help
Depending on which SPAL fan you are referring to, they can draw in excess of 25A during in-rush.
Safe bet is a good 14AWG conductor for the power supply to your fuse>relay>fan - tefzel preferably and keep the fuse as close to the battery as possible.

Re: SPAL Fan Relay Wiring Help
So 14 Gauge on both:
87 to SPAL positive wire on Fan
SPAL FAN Blk to Chassis Ground
10 Gauge from Battery to Fuse to 30 on Relay
Other than that the wiring where needs to go... looks right correct??

Re: SPAL Fan Relay Wiring Help
I haven't wired it up yet... just was making sure and planing ahead... Right now I have a pusher Blox fan on the front. I am currently ditching it for a Puller Low Profile SPAL 10" fan. It does not use the big boy motor which draws a lot of amps 15-20. I am going to try the cheaper smaller Low Profile 10" Fan which only draws a peak of 6.2 Amps. I am going to use the stock wiring like the Blox unit since Amps are low. 7.5 I believe is max on the circuit. Should be fine. I am also making a Aluminum Fan Shroud for it on my Koyo 1/2 Size...

Re: SPAL Fan Relay Wiring Help
this diagram should work just fine BUT with a low amp fan, i dont see why you would need to wire it directly at. can't you just plug the spal fan directly to the factory harness? the factory relay should hold 7.5amps just fine.

Re: SPAL Fan Relay Wiring Help
Correct your stating what I already said... I wanted to double check for future if I decided to upgrade to big boy fan... also didn't know at first low profile fans draw under 6.5" amps

Re: SPAL Fan Relay Wiring Help
if you do upgrade to the bigger fan, you might want to go ahead and ground the relay directly to the chassis and bypass the stock wiring all together
