ok my friend is gonna get some 100 or 104 octane gas for his chevelle and wanted to know if i wanted any. My question is would it benifit me when i go to the track this weekend? My car is a 92 prelude si, i'm going to be running with no filter and open header. would it benifit or would it be harmful?

The higher the octane the higher resistance there is to detonation. So if your not running hot cams with a timming advance or a fair amount of boos then there really isnt any need, just as long as your not getting detonaion. Someone correct me if im wrong.

depends on your timing. you could always bump it up a hair if you go with the race gas.
