Default is a pcv needed

was wondering if a pcv valve is need if i am running a catch can

I hollowed out my pcv then connect it straight to a catch can. Plug the manifold.

well i did something like that but ran the lines from the black and the valve cover too the catch can with no pcv and plugged the hole on the mani and went and drove it real hard and when i came back i already had oil in there very little and when i had the pcv i barely had any oil and i would check it every two weeks or so.. is this normal and dont be worried or is there something wrong....

collecting oil means you are venting crankcase pressure. That's the whole point of the catch can. Pcv is too restrictive if no vacuam is applied.
