Re: J series Insight Build
I know I'm comparing apples to oranges, but my chromoly B-series flywheel is 8.8 lbs and it has a lot more material to it than that flywheels looks to have.

Re: J series Insight Build
So to me, a 10lbs flywheel is very impressive. My lightweight aluminum flywheel from clutch masters is heavier than a factory B series. So I cant imagine how heavy a stock dual mass flywheel is.

J series flywheels are much thicker than B series and I believe bigger diameter. There is a lot more material throughout. The factory J series flywheel is dual mass, which is way thicker. So when a single mass flywheel is made, it has to be thick in areas to get the right height to match where the factory flywheel would sit. Think of it this way, take a B series flywheel bolt, and just about double its length to equal the length of a J series bolt. That's how long the J series flywheel bolt has to be in order to make up for the increased thickness of the flywheel.

Yeah, I was really surprised as to how thick it was. Here is mine that is designed for a factory style pressure plate. The Twin disc flywheel isn't as thick, but still a lot of material.
