today i put new delrin bushings in the lower control arms, new hubs, wheel bearings, knuckles, extended studs, calipers, pads, rotors, steering rod ends, shocks, and mounted the MH slicks and wheels for the first time. then i sat the 2nd gen MB front end on to see how much modifying its gonna need.

Re: got some new pics of the racecar :) (speedworks)
im going to try out stock torsion bars and go from there, stiffer bars are available if needed. im also going to try out tokico illumina's and see how they do and then move up to more expensive shocks if needed. the delrin bushings are supposed to really eliminate wheel hop
the master cylinder is a tilton clutch cylinder got it from kens kustom chassis for ~$100, its awesome

its at home, the cement is just a special cement normally used in warehouses. its polished smooth, it has kinda wierd swirls and stuff because it rained while they were polishing it but its really easy to keep clean.

you might check with H@R, they carry many different sizes of spacers, if its only a 1/8" you might just try taking alittle off of the caliper if possible, if that is what you are having trouble clearing??

Well more the better, if possible at least 1/4" between wheels and brakes would be nice, on my drag car this year I upgraded to a set of wildwood 4piston calipers, with the same weld wheels you have, I had to go with a spacer on my wheels, and with alittle cutting and grinding, I only have around a 1/8" clearance on my wheel and calipers in certain spots, but they clear!!!!!!

Your car looks great!!!
It's finally coming together. I am only running the Si torsion bars with Tokiko's and it works fairly well. I have no wheel hop issues, but I am also only using a B16. You're in a whole new ball field.
Are you going to be running wheely bars? The short wheel base will be "fun" without them.

what is the difference between the hf and the si torsion bars? hopefully the delrin bushings and custom traction bars will help with wheel hop. im definately gonna have a wheelie bar. that wheelbase is a joke

Re: got some new pics of the racecar :) (zad5)
yea, i dont see a definate advantage to switch to coilovers, lotta work for nothing. some say the torsion bars are heavy.. but its low and near the tires. we'll see how it hooks up.
i think he did it because of the tien sponsorship only.
