I'll be there, covering the event for OverRev. Everybody do me a favor and put your damn name on the side windows of your cars That makes it MUCH more likely that you'll end up getting a picture in the magazine if you win your sportsman class.

That No Slicks rule really killed that whole class I hate to say but what can u do but complain and make some kind of fun out of it. I guess its the NHRA's way to be different from NOPI Series. NOPI's COMP4 class is kick *** for all motor street cars </TD></TR></TABLE> actually, i prefer that the class stays with that rule. think about this: anyone, can put a race engine on a street car(by the rules, since any pump fuel can be ran). so the only way to make it somewhat fair for the regular joe, is by keeping the class on dot tires! but i won't be surprice, to see a car from that class make a 12.5 second pass on that event! BTW i hope to see your crx, make some good passes at the event

Re: (smokey2.0)
i agree the nopi cars are only dashboard and carpet away from a pro stock car, this class is true street cars, its different but the class is bfg sponserd so i don't think slicks will ever be allowed. and nor do i think they should

Though I agree, that 1 10second pass is ALONG way, away from running 9's here is the info you need to the best of my recolection
9second NHRA Certified Cage
Window Net
Parachute (If u plan on going 150, and if u plan on running 9's this is pretty much a definatey)
Flywheel Shield
Snell Approved Helmet
SFI 2 layer Firejacket
SFI Pants
SFI Gloves
SFI Neck Collar
SFI 5pt Harness
Then you need to get the application, fill it out and get a physical, then go to an NHRA track and tell them your there for your license test.
You make 6 runs
2 60ft
2 Moderate
2 Full Runs (If you run at Englishtown they MUST be 9second passes for them to sign off for you)
After completing your runs, you need to have 2 drivers with a competition license already to sign off on your runs, then have the track sign off.
Then you have to mail your stuff into NHRA then wait for your license, takes around a week total.

Re: (itsukivr6)
when you get the physical do you need to take a form from your doctor or do does your doctor have to fill out one of their forms?
I recently had one done & my doctor asked me...
