Yeah, those who took the pics said it was really a planned event on a Sunday.

Street Racing is actually pretty big in Mexcio and tollerated by the police if you can believe it.
They have events, so I have been told...
Trust me, we started sumthin thats taken over the whole planet!
They race in Russia, Mexico, Sweden, Germany, UK, Czeh Republic, Dubai, Maylasia, EVERYWHERE!
Early EVO's are very popular to import and modify cheaply. They just have a hard time getting parts sometime.
I had a guy come into my store and wanted some NX purges and NX Nitrous gauges (yes 90% of your Pep Boys have that in stock, along with MSD external coil conversion) because they were cheaper than even his shop would sell them to him for and for sure cheaper than in his home country in South America (forgot where)
Drag Racig - Its International...

It would be nice to run all the VIN# on those cars!! I bet alot of them are stolen from Southern Cal. and AZ.

i wish they wouldnt make a big stink about it in this country. Whenever we do it, its on a country road with no traffic, never in a neighborhood or town. must be nice. Well i dont really do it but i love watching.

The old Tijuana races. I went down there once in 2001. I took my 93 Coupe w/B16 and bolt ons and 80 shot of nitrous. There were no honda's there back then just mustangs and muscle cars. They used to race by the Airport in Tijuana. I made some couple of bucks that night.
Oh yeah and the Border Patrol on the way back into California kept my bottle Gosh I was so dumb back then.

I spent some time in Puerto Vallarta this fall and there were some small tuner shops and people fixed up some cars but I didn't see anything like that. I can vouch for the local authorities not really caring about racing. Our cab drivers would drive 3 - 4 times the posted speed limit...right past the police. They would stand in the median with full auto rifles, but I didn't see any trouble the whole 2 weeks I was there.
We actually took a Jeep Safari trip into the Sierra Madre and there was a tuner shop with a showroom and everything in a market where all the roads were rugged mud and the buildings and home were made of mud. I loved the people there...they were great.

yes that is where most of the stolen **** from SD ends up. Volks in Mexico you kidding me? those are ******* stolen.
I have a cousin that lives Near TJ in Tecate and he tells me stories of pickup trucks driving around selling honda motors and ****, LOL like a ******* ice cream truck. They hit up the local race spots, shops and other known areas.
