dart blocks?
are dart blocks any good?? im about to start building up my motor and am wondering if i should just buy a dart block.. i was looking at the b20 with 226 mm deck height.
how strong are the sleeves and what kinda boost can these handle if built with quality components

You know it's been being talked about alot lately. At first I thought they were really expensive as well, but if the heresay I've heard is true. $2000 US for a block isn't bad at all. Especially considering how much you'd pay to build a stock B series block with sleeves and all.

they are expensive, but seem to be well built.
my only question is can you bore out the 81mm bore blocks since they are the only one that comes in stock deck height.

well i can sleeve my block now for 800 or buy one of those that is supposedly alot better and pay 1900.. an extra 1000 isnt alot if this block is going to be alot better in the end

just be aware that they are not allowed in NHRA, not sure about NDRA or others. you have to use a production block on any car running in NHRA, it you are just building a street car, and you have the money for it, Go for it!! they are really nice pieces, I have checked them out up close a few times

I wouldn`t put their block in a street car in SoCal. If you get rolled, you`re doomed. No serial number. Best case scenario, you get sent to the ref. Worst case, impounded. I would just sleeve what you have unless this is a racecar.

the serial number wouldnt really matter long as you have the proof you paid for it, i.e. the recepit. smog is another story but im sure long as you have all the smog equipment you would be okay.

The only thing that sucks about it is that most sanctioning bodies won't allow you to competitivly race with a Honda Dart block, the block must be manufactured by the chasis manufacturer...

thats right did not come in more than 500 honda cars, trucks, or suv
but they are nice

its for a streetproject car in ca.im not worried about cops or smog.. i can get smogged and i dont drive like an idiot so i dont get hasstled by cops very often.. ive been pulled over ALOT and if your cool to the cop they are usally cool back.. only been sent to the ref once and it wasnt even for my motor.. it was for the intake not having a carb sticker.. so out of 20 timespopping my hood.. my whole car only having 1 vin on the firewall ive never been hasstled byt he cops.. they seem to care more if its a stolen engine, over the fact its jdm.. also if you have a vin on your tranny and they cant find it on your motor and your not being a jerk that seems like its fine.. but im putting hoodlocks on and if i ever get asked to pop my hood im going to say i dont have the keys. that should be fine since they have no real reason to pop it anyway
