6's Finally! 4G63 Dragster
Some of you guys remember me from the NOPI/NHRA days and some have probably even followed what my dad and I have done since. For those who haven't, we built a dragster powered by a 4G63 to run in NHRA's Competition Eliminator class. A couple weeks ago, we achieved a major milestone, a 6 second quarter mile pass! The run was in qualifying at Atco Raceway, we went 6.97 at 190 MPH!
Video of the pass can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA1vGgopG_U
A ton of old videos of the car can be seen on my youtube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Drivengsx
And information on the car can be seen here: http://turbo4.com
A basic rundown of the car:
250" Rear engine dragster
2.0L Mitsubishi 4G63 - stock block, crank and head
74mm S400SX Borg Warner turbo
AEM Series 2 EMS with the AQ-1 Data Logger
12 - 1600cc FIC BlueMax Injectors
Sparktech ignition
DV/DT Fab Intake Manifold
A special thanks also has to go out to Extreme PSI for all of their support on this car.

Thanks guys! It's a lot of work but the rewards are worth it.
It's not really a stock motor, stock block, crank and head. We replace the pistons, rods and just about everything else.

Thanks guys.
The car weighs 1560.
Cost varies depending on what you do. Just as a sport FWD car, you can get in on the cheap or go all in and spend a fortune.

Congrats on the ET. I'm assuming your using a PG tranny, are you guys experiencing a delay on building boost at the line? After watching your vids, it seems a little slow to build the boost as it cones up on the convertor.

Re: 6's Finally! 4G63 Dragster
We use a power glide, getting on the converter is always a battle on a turbo 4 cylinder. Most people use nitrous for spool up but we're not allowed to. We can do much better in competition with some tricks we have but it's hard on the car so for testing, we just give it time. Most of my videos are from testing though.
We run methanol and we run NHRA Competition Eliminator. It's a fun class, I wish more import guys would try it.

Hopefully at least one will (fingers crossed)! Maybe I'll try my hand at the Dutch Classic! Got a 74 or 76 I can borrow Tony?
