EW is engine code. i don't understand why people don't know this?

E-AT is 84-87 Civic with a 1.6 liter motor
E-AH is 84-87 Civic with a 1.5 liter motor
E-AG is 84-87 Civic with a 1.3 liter motor
E-AK is four door with 1.5 liter
E-AU is four door with 1.6 liter
E-AJ is wagon with 1.3 liter
E-AK is ALSO wagon with 1.5 liter
E-AR is wagon with 4wd
E-AF is CRX with 1.5 liter
E-AE is CRX with 1.3 liter
E-AS is CRX with 1.6 liter..


i may have forgotten a few, and i know the 86/87 CRX DX are strange..

A USDM 87 Si is EC3, i think the 86 is different.

i think all the 87's are different. like i said, i know the CRX's were for a fact.. my 86 is an E-AH.

1.5 liter 87 civic 4dr is a e-ak?

or does it really depend, i know the EF was made in november 87. i cant seem to find the chassis code for my car. i'll get a picture up.

It's still an '88 model despite whenever its manufacture date was.

my 86 was made in 85, but is still an 86.

chassis code is in the vin number.
