1983 honda civic-need advice!
So this is my first honda, Im really into subarus but my grampa asked me if i wanted his mothers civic for 25$? i said sure!! i was told it was in good shape and for the most part it is..but as we started ripping stuff out all we found was rust....Its now running great! only 115K on it! now were in the process of trying to weld the floor back together and then ready for the next stage!
Soo wondering if anyone has any known parts that fit this car, wheels, suspension, ect. im open to about anything..any ideas or advice would be great!
thanks

Looks pretty good man. I'm envious of your perfect seats. As far as parts go, you'll probally be relying on ebay and other second gen owners.

I've heard that any d15 series should swap in, however don't go to far beyond what you have. I've heard b16's, b18's might also be suggested - - k20's if you have alot of cash and than theres always the v8 rwd coversion...
Whatever route you go - My only sugestion is buy manuals for car you have now and the car the engine your using is coming from. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page read-up so when you go to buy something you know and most importantly...POST YOUR FOLLOW UPS! =p

Damn, that's a pretty good amount of rust. I hope you can weld somewhat. Looks like a fun project though. Good luck with it. I really feel for you guys on the east coast. There are about 30498349038 of those Civics running around just Olympia, let alone the rest of this state. There was a painting in a local bar that someone had done, about 4 feet wide, 6 feet high, of a 2g Civic painted bright yellow on an Olympia landscape. God I wanted that painting so bad.

nice!
little update, started to get things patched up this weekend. I'm terrible at welding but I'm figuring it out...Hopefully going to have all the welding done by the end of the week.

I have that same issues with the rust on the passenger side. Look alright and what kind of welding machine did you use?
