Hopefully i posted this in correct secrion, I am looking at front speakers for my eg hatch and was looking at alpine but i am stuck as to wich speaker is better as they are almost the same the difference i noteced was the rms watts spe 6000 are 60 and sps are 80 but maxx on both say 240 "does this mean sps is better if planning to amplify and spe if not or sps can just handle extra power less worry of blowing it", also the sensitivity ratings ar really close sps 88 and spe 88.5, sps has a 1" tweeter vs spe has a 3/4", and also has anybody put these in there eg for front speakers I think i read before that they work but when i looked on Crutchfield they said would not fit my car. Any guidence would be helpful also i can get both for around the same price maybe $10 different so im not worried about that, thanks

You may have an issue fitting them because of the depth/magnet size. You will for sure have to cut out the back of the plastic basket that rests in the door, and even doing that the magnet may hit the window track. If you try adding a spacer, anything more than 1/4" and you will run the risk of the speaker hitting the door panel while it's playing.

None of the differences you listed are going to matter when it comes to hearing an audible difference between the two. If you are set on these, I would go with the ones that fit your budget. 60 watts RMS is PLENTY for the average listener and most people can't sit in the car with that much comming out of each speaker at full tilt lol.

Thanks for the reply I figured there shouldnt be much of a difference but just thought i would ask wouldnt want to get them and not be happy finding out down the line the other ones sound way better, has anyone, tried mounting these, I dont mind cutting the plastic or running a thin spacer but i dont want to be worried about have to leave my stock speaker panels off, also if soembody has any suggestions to speakers that wil sound as good or better of similar price range, i know ive good things about infinity kappas but never looked into them or listened to any comparrisons, thanks for any help

Infinitys are a good choice as well. I actually just installed a pair of Pioneer TS-A1605 components in my EG hatch and love the way they sound. Cut the back of the basket out, drive some screws into the plastic, and the plop right in the door with plenty of room to spare.

Thanks for the reply i guess ill just have to go to a stereo place n listen to a few and look at mounting depths and go from there, i like the idea of having all alpine one day but at the same time if it makes it super hard to fit and doesn't sound any better then who cares what brand it is lol

Look at speakers that will fall in your price range, and ignore brands. Go with what sounds best to YOU. Usually this is what happens......you can hear the audible difference between a $25 speaker and a $75-$100 speaker to justify the added cost. But making the jump from $100 to $125/$150/$200 the differences or "improvements" while they are there, is it worth spending the extra $$$ on? For the average user, $75-$125 seems to be the sweet spot for getting a significant improvement over OEM but not breaking the bank.
