Viper Alarm Permanent 'Silent Mode' Activation by Remote?
In my 300+ and several Viper Alarm systems (ie 500+, 300, 300ESP, etc.), 'Silent Mode' can be activated by hitting the II button before arming with the I button. In the manual it mentions this is a 'one time action' and if you want Silent Mode permanently, you have to take it to the dealer/installer. When I first had my car (purchased with the alarm already installed), Silent Mode was activated, and my roommate turned off Silent Mode one day playing with my remote. I'm certain there must be a way to do this manually...I've tried endless combinations of buttons and can't seem to figure it out

sounds like the alarm is in valet mode...Is the LED constantantly on? When you arm it does it blink like normal or is it just a red light?
i beleive theres is a button for valet mode. In my viper alarm not sure what model. You leave the drive door open..turn the key two clicks and hold down both buttons (i have the two button remote) for a couple seconds. Then let go..take out the key and should be back into normal mode.

I've seen a lot of people with the same prob. NO it's not in valet mode and NO there is no programming section in the Owner's Guide. You have to check out the actual Installation Guide used by the dealers.
It shows you how to program every possible feature, including chirp mode on/off.
Note: many of the sirens have internal batteries if reprogramming fails.
good luck

I not sure how your friend turn off something that was programmed into the brain. With just the remote and no access to the valet button. Not saying it did not happen but its really not likely. Something must of gliched. What I am wondering is if the dealer gave you the car in valet mode and the alarm was never activated. Just find your valet button and reprogram it back.
