Default upgrading speakers in a '98 honda civic ex

Hi, I have a 1998 honda civic EX 4-door and my speakers are just not enough for me, I have 2 12" rockford fosgate subs 1200watts total and the bass just completely drowns out the treble and makes the treble sound all distorted, at Best Buy they reccomended that I get Infinity speakers because they have a lot of treble, does anyone know what size speakers I need for my car? I want to make sure I buy the right ones and will 2 speakers in the back be enough? Thanks!!

6 1/2s.

Front speakers will probably require cutting of the basket to get them to fit. Backs should be no problem.

Thank you very much, I just purchased Infinity Reference 6012i 6.5 2-Way Car Speakers 6 1/2 off eBay and hopefully they will be easy to install, I only bought 2 so I am going to install them in the back, is there a manual or anything anywhere that will show me how to install these in my car? I installed my subs and my amp myself so speakers can't be any harder

Why don't you just install them in the front?? You'll hear them more, and they're easier to install than the backs...

The grilles in front pop off, three screws hold the factory speakers in. Can't be any easier than that...

Buy the speaker harnesses for $6 for true plug & play installation.

if ur amp is hooked up to the bass pre-out then ur treble shouldnt distort
