How much should I pay for a stereo install?
I have component speakers up front, some speakers for the rear , a 5 channel amp and alpine headunit I want to install into my 95 Integra. How much should I pay for a complete install like this? The door panels need to have tweeter holes drilled because they don't have tweeters.
btw, If you're experienced and want to make some money by doing this, IM me. hehe

depends on the install and how customer you wanna go...if it's basic..usually it's $60 for a basci deck install...like $30.00 per pair of speakers to R and R them and like $90 to install the amp.....that's all for basci install......

hmm...I'd say its a basic install, nothing flashy or custom. This shop I went to says 100 per component speakers, 120ish for parts, 300 for labor. About 500 total.

thats a damn good price at $135
That included the price of a box?? It seems unrealistic to find that here in toronto unless your going to a smaller shop - even then, the farthest they'll go is deck, amp and subs + box (maaaaybe) for that price - the backup sirens were bonus for you!

As a professional installer...I see this all day long. Even though there are very
gifted shadetree installers out there....they are outweighed by the wannabe's.
Not every can install gear properly and I hate fixing peeps fuckups and trust me
they are some doozies. Know you limits....I can change my brakes but I choose
not to because I don't do it on the regular...as a guys who works @ say Midas....
he would do it a lot faster than I. See the connection.
I am not saying don't do your own work...just know your limits and that not
everyone will do the job as well as you would like it to be done. My all time fave
story I tell is of a lady who bought a car from the dealership, came to me to have
a radio installed..her total cost was $80.00 total ( taxes labor parts )..she balked that it was to much - Huh? She knew of someone who could do as good
a job for cheaper. She went to this person..who cut off her oem harness, did not connect the new radio to the correct wires, took out her dash light circuits
and a few other minor circuits...( still salvagable mind you). She did not like the job ( the radio was not secured in the dash just resting on foam blocks) came back
to me..still did not like to price ( $80.00 still) Had the "installer" put her old radio
back in...he did the best he could..sparks flew and shorted out the factory. She had enough and went to the dealership....Her repair cost was $900.00 to
reinstall the factory deck. ( OUCH ) She stated after mentioning that
she should have had my shop do the job...the service writer said " why didnt you
? They do a good job and warranty the work..plus you would have saved money"
I learned of all this as she came to us to have the new deck installed.
Live and learn. Have fun.

*sniff* Roach, that story brings a tear to my eye.
I've seen "1.5 X normal labour" for fixing botch jobs in some shops.
It should be more than normal, because you're fixing mistakes, that ( hopefully) you wouldn't have.
For the original question, I'd charge 3 or 4 hours to put that stuff in.

Re: How much should I pay for a stereo install? (nOOber)
I hate fixing peeps fuckups as well...cause by the time you get it its so far gone.
We wrere treating her as if it was a theft job...not to far gone, typical smash and
grab. She still wanted to baulk because she thought that labor should be cheaper
beacuse the radio was "already connected" ( yeah right...turn on lights its went off
hit turn signal or horn and it went out...really nice job)
