help- power door locks, lock but wont unlock
Can someone help me figure this mess out?
I have a 95 integra and it has a DEI alarm with power locks.
A couple weeks ago the remote fob stopped unlocking the doors. It will lock both doors just fine, it just won't unlock them.
From inside the car I can unlock and lock both doors. I have to use the the drivers switch, but it unlocks both the passenger side and drivers side. The passenger side's switch doesn't do anything, it wont lock or unlock the passenger side door.
I would totally think it was the switch but the key fob doesn't unlock either side....it disarms the alarm...but wont unlock the doors.
anyone have any idea? Were should I start?
TIA

Check to see if the blue or blue/black unlock wire going to the alarm is grounded or disconnected.
As for the passenger side OEM switch, I would disconnect the switch and ground the pins manually to test them. There should be a proceedure in the repair manual.

SHat----not sure WTH is going on...I had contiuity at all points, the door switches (both sides), the alarm etc. and after a couple hrs I ended up just giving up.
There was alot of moisture in the doors, even a small puddle in the passenger's side. I cleaned up the water, masked off some of the wires to keep them from getting wet any further, and put the door panels back on.
VIOLA! the remote and switches worked like new.
Not sure if it was the water/moisture was causing a short...or if the panels weren't on correctly and were causing a bind???
Anyway, an odd little quirk that I have never seen before...
thanks again-
