Hi I own a 97 civic and recently my stereo stopped working...I checked the fuses and rewired the head unit with a new harness ...colors go as follows...red to red black to black and yellow to yellow and the other wires for the speakers...Well it didn't work....it did before ...now I have to rurundown yellows to a red and it works but it's constantly on...shock Which I know is not good....but I dunno what else to do ....can any one give me some insight please..

One of your fuses is blown. Double check and the "ACC"/ignition wire will work again.

I checked my fuses...the acc fuse is the cigarette lighter fuse (am I right) and its fine..But I'll double check again ty

The color diagram is weird because my red is a power...lol this is confusing

What I posted was the OEM wire colors, you mention red, are you referring to the switched/ignition power on your radio?

If you are not using an aftermarket wire harness but rather wiring direct to the car, your power connections should look something like this:

Radio Color..........Car color

Yellow..........white/blue
Red..........yellow/red
Black..........Black
Orange or orange white..........red/black

Hey I have successfully achieved radio operations....the acc fuse wasnt or didn't visually appear blow but I changed it anyway....and viola ....I got my tunes back....THSNKS TO EVERY ONE FOR UR helP
