5 channel amp?
Okay so I have 4-ohm speakers in the front and rear, but a 2-ohm polk sub. I need to get these suckers amped, or at least the front components and sub.
Would a 5 channel amp fit the bill? Would I be able to run the speakers at 4 ohm and the sub at 2 ohm or does everything on the amp have to be either 2 or 4?

Re: 5 channel amp?
I have the Hifonics zeus 8thousandsomething. It has 5 channels, 1X300 into 2ohms and 4X55w 4ohms or 4X110watts 2ohms RMS. I really like it, it is a great amp. I'm running my speakers and sub off it now.
EDIT: The reason I have the five channel is because my hu won't out put anything through the speaker wires. So either I run just the fronts and no backs or amp them all.

Re: 5 channel amp?
While they do make good 5 channel amps, I would highly recommend just doing a 4 ch. and a separate class-d 1 ch. amp. It comes out quite a bit cheaper (generally) and you generally get more power on all the channels when they are split up especially when you look at the power/$$$. I'm not saying good 5 channels don't exist, they do, but typically you will pay more to have it in one unit.
You can however run different channels on a 5 channel with a different load (ohms).
edit: and to the above, either
A) get a head unit w/ 3 outputs (F R & Sub) so you can control everything on the head unit (I don't know how you can live w/o this :p).
B) use the line out on the main amp and run it to the sub amp (assuming the amp has them)

Re: 5 channel amp?
Is there an amp out there that can run 4 ohms to the front speakers and then 2 ohm stable to the sub?
Edit: Would this work? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113X600...0F.html?tp=115

Re: 5 channel amp?
How do I run two remote turn on wires from the head unit? Do I just run 1 and then splice the other?

Re: 5 channel amp?
As far as the turn on, ya you can just daisy chain them (run one to the first which has two wires, the second going to the second amp).
